Intel SSD Toolbox 3.0 Released
For those with an SSD from Intel, it might be of interest to know that Intel has released a new version of its helper app SSD Toolbox, which has now reached version 3.0. It’s a versatile little tool that can be used to maintain and diagnose Intel’s own storage devices.
The news in the Intel SSD Toolbox 3.0 is most prominently a revised user interface–it has been given a graphical overhaul to give you easy access to menus and help texts. It has retained all the features from previous versions, and updated a couple of them.
Features include the ability to read SMART values, optimize operating system settings for SSDs, update your drive’s firmware and launch secure deletion and manual TRIM. Much like the software we mentioned yesterday, it also tries to give you an estimate on the remaining life and health of the drive and also fix potential problems.
This handy tool works for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 and is available for download from Intel’s website.
