Kingston SSDNow V+ 180 – New 1.8-inch SSD for Ultraportables
Kingston has expanded its range of SSDs with the new series SSDNow V+ 180, indicating that it’s an 1.8-inch variant of the now well-known brand. With this one, Kingston’s SSDs are now finally ready for use with ultraportable laptops like the MacBook Air and others.
The specifications for the SSDNow V+ 180 are 230 MB/s read speed and 180MB/s write speeds over the SATA 3.0 Gbps interface. In addition, the new drives offer TRIM support. There is no information yet as to what controller is inside the drives, but if it’s the same as the 2.5-inch SSDNow V+ it is likely a Toshiba variant.
V+ 180 uses MLC NAND Flash and ships in storage capacities of 64GB, 128GB and 256GB.
