I am using Samsung 860 Evo in my PC and it makes the Windows 10 load in only 2 seconds.

The interface is important because it is may cap the speed of an SSDs (not
mechanical drives, which are too slow). For example, most recent SATA III (6 Gbps) SSDs are capped by the interface, which is why you need to move to PCI Express (PCIe) to see an improvement. To confuse things a bit further, PCIe can be in regular PCIe card form factor or the smaller, on-board M.2 (the latter of which may also use a SATA interface, not to be confused with mSATA).

Anybody could explain I would appreciate that. Other question which is a bit off-topic , is it more economical to buy an external ssd and use thunderbolt 3(usb c) rather buying a macbook with larger ssd and exponentially pricier device?!
Thank you

Among fastest are PCIE SSD’s such as Samsung 960 and Patriot Hellfire. Look for highest random read speed for practical speed.

Comment on Paragon Migrate OS to SSD 4.0 Review by Peter H https://www.fastestssd.com/reviews/paragon-migrate-os-to-ssd-4-0-review/#comment-1017022 Fri, 13 Jan 2017 04:34:26 +0000 http://www.fastestssd.com/?p=1170#comment-1017022 HI, I purchased version 4 some time ago and it has not failed me including moving SCSI Raid 0 based systems to SSD drives. In fact I use it as my backup / imaging program. I can restore my systems from a conventional HDD as my backup. I installed SSD 4.0 on several systems, win 7 and 10 without a problem. So, based on my use, I purchased version 5.0, big mistake! I can only use it on the computer that it is registered to, meaning I have to uninstall and transfer the license to use it as a backup any other computer, e.g. laptop and desktop. The previous version had no such limitation, the one license allowed you to install it on several computers. Needless to say I don’t use version 5.0, a waste of money for my task. So be warned version 5.0 does have that limitation which is unnecessarily time consuming.

Comment on Intel SSD 750 (PCIe 3.0) Fastest Ever for Desktop PCs, According to Intel by Kendall https://www.fastestssd.com/new-ssds/intel-ssd-750-pcie-3-0-fastest-ever-for-desktop-pcs-according-to-intel/#comment-1015848 Sat, 17 Dec 2016 20:37:41 +0000 http://www.fastestssd.com/?p=1189#comment-1015848 The 750 series is a beast… A lot of people don’t know the true potential once you unlock the non NVME SSD’s and overclock a little….

Why pay $1000 for a pro 960 NVME when I can get twice those speeds with my Samsung 750 Evo.

I will keep my cheap $100 SSD.
